How to Search Ventura County Records (Start Here)
Ventura County keeps its Assessor and Recorder as — unlike some neighboring California counties that combine them. Court records have their own public portal.
- Ventura Superior Court public portal at ventura.ecourt.com. Also accessible through ventura.courts.ca.gov. Covers civil, criminal, family, small claims, and probate.
- Court records by mail: There is a $15 fee per search request with a maximum of 15 names per request. Mail requests to: Ventura Superior Court, Records Department, 800 S. Victoria Ave.
- Property assessments: Ventura County Assessor at assessor.venturacounty.gov — search by parcel number or address for property characteristics and assessed values.
- Recorded documents: Ventura County Recorder at clerkrecorder.venturacounty.gov — property records search from home, including deeds, liens, and mortgages.
- No free statewide criminal search in California. Live Scan through CA DOJ for comprehensive results.
